ADIB adopts IBM hybrid cloud solutions to accelerate digital transformation strategy

Abu Dhabi, UAE – April 11, 2021: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading Islamic financial institution, announced its collaboration with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to accelerate its transition to become a modern, digitally-led Islamic bank, using IBM hybrid cloud solutions based on Red Hat OpenShift. The transformation complements the bank’s digital transformation strategy which leverages big data, analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver operational and financial benefits.

Building on ADIB’s longstanding collaboration with IBM, the bank selected IBM hybrid cloud solutions to enhance its digital infrastructure, modernize operations and automate processes, enabling its employees to focus their effort and time in serving customers better. The transformation also aims to provide ADIB’s customers with improved digital banking experiences and bring new services to market faster.

ADIB selected IBM Cloud Pak for Integration to meet changing customer demands faster. The bank now has the ability to build new cloud-native applications and make them available to their customers across its digital platforms in a faster, more personalized and user-friendly manner. ADIB is also able to integrate different microservices from its vast ecosystem of partners and FinTechs to offer its customers a marketplace of financial services. This enables ADIB customers to use the bank’s digital platform as a one-stop-shop for their financial needs, such as financing a house or a car.

ADIB also opted for IBM Cloud Pak for Automation to drive a new wave of productivity. The solution enables ADIB to better manage and automate data-intensive processes and reduce manual document processing, enabling employees to focus on higher value work and serve their customers better. Today, ADIB uses IBM Cloud Pak for Automation to facilitate and automate over 20 processes, such as customer onboarding and loan origination.

ADIB recently won the Middle East’s most Innovative Bank by EMEA magazine, and Best Islamic Digital Bank by Global Finance magazine.
